When a vehicle breaks down, safety is on the top priority. Traditional warning triangles require drivers to step out of their vehicles—something that can be risky on busy highways or in poor visibility. The new generation of connected car emergency lights can be activated immediately with a built-in button. Drivers can switch it on at the first moment of an incident, and the device works independently without relying on any other equipment—instantly enhancing roadside safety.
Once activated, the emergency light does more than flash—it communicates. Powered by the SIMCom Y7080E NB-IoT module, it transmits the vehicle’s exact location in real time to traffic management systems, enabling emergency services and roadside assistance to respond faster. Quicker response means less time stranded and a lower risk of secondary accidents.
The Y7080E is built for ultra-low power consumption (~1µA in PSM). Even though emergency lights require strong, continuous flashing and constant signal transmission—which usually drains a lot of power consumption—the Y7080E ensures long-lasting brightness and reliable performance without putting extra load on the car battery.
When switched on, its integrated GNSS (GPS/GLONASS/Galileo) pinpoints the vehicle’s position with precision, even in poor weather or low visibility. This data is sent over NB-IoT bands B3/B5/B8/B20/B28, ensuring consistent connectivity whether the breakdown occurs in the city, on remote highways, or across regions.
Its compact LCC+LGA form factor (17.6×15.7×2.4 mm) and high integration keep the device lightweight, discreet, and cost-effective—ideal for mass deployment. With embedded SIM (eSIM) and support for secure protocols like MQTT, CoAP, LwM2M, plus UDP for remote firmware upgrades, the Y7080E ensures durability, secure communication, and easy maintenance without on-site servicing.
With embedded SIM (eSIM) and advanced protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, LwM2M, the Y7080E enhances durability and ensuring secure, real-time communication and remote software updates without on-site servicing.
Certified by RoHS, REACH, NAL, SRRC, CE (RED), UKCA, GCF, Telefonica, Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone Spain, Orange and Anatel, ensuring compliance with international regulatory and telecom standards. Furthermore, ongoing certifications from Orange, and TIM further reinforce its credibility and pave the way for broader adoption across major telecom networks. Y7080E is ready for rapid global deployment in safety-critical applications.
By combining NB-IoT connectivity, precise location tracking, and exceptional energy efficiency, SIMCom’s Y7080E enables connected emergency lights that protect motorists, improve response times, and make roads safer for everyone.
