In developed regions like Europe and North America, a combination of abundant land, high living standards, and a strong cultural emphasis on lawn care has created a thriving lawn maintenance market. However, the high cost of labor drives most households to manage their lawns independently. According to Modor Intelligence, the global lawn mower market was valued at $1.5 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach $3.5 billion by 2027. Europe and North America dominate the market with 35% and 25% shares, respectively, but the adoption of robotic mowers varies widely, from 60% in Northern Europe to less than 5% in North America.
Traditional lawn mowers face significant challenges, including reliance on boundary wires, high labor costs, low efficiency, and poor adaptability to varying landscapes and weather. SIMCom’s intelligent solutions, powered by the SIM9650L-W smart module, tackle these issues by offering advanced features such as boundary-free operation, automatic obstacle recognition, and dynamic path planning. These capabilities significantly reduce the R&D, labor, and maintenance costs for manufacturers and end-users.
Smart lawn mowers equipped with the SIM9650L-W module are designed to overcome traditional limitations. Delivering over 14 TOPS of AI abilities, these mowers can handle complex tasks, navigate obstacles, and autonomously map mowing areas. Powered by Android 14, an octa-core ARM V8 processor, and Adreno™643 GPU, with frequency up to 2.7GHz and Adreno™643 GPU, supporting OpenGL ES 3.2 and OpenCL 2.0.The module contains DSP with Dual HVX and Hexagon Tensor Accelerator. SIM9650L-W offers outstanding data processing and graphics rendering performance.
It features a built-in Adreno™VPU 633, supporting up to 4K30 video encoding or 4K60 video decoding, with storage options like 64GB+4GB or 128GB+8GB. The SIM9650L-W integrates BT5.2 short-range communication and 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi 6E for smart wireless connectivity. Its multi-satellite positioning ensures reliable operation in diverse environments. With flexible interfaces and multi-camera support, the module is also suitable for a range of applications beyond lawn mowers, including AR devices, smart cockpits, and industrial tools.
As AI and IoT technologies evolve, SIMCom is enhancing smart mowers withadvanced AI solutions, driving the future of intelligent lawn care. SIMCom aims to promote the widespread adoption of smart mowing technologies, contributing to a greener and more connected world.
